Elliot Crowder’s practice specializes in the representation of fiduciaries, debtors, and creditors in all facets of insolvency law, and litigation matters often requiring immediate attention. Elliot frequently is relied upon by businesses and equity holders in complex disputes in the business courts and federal district courts across the state of Michigan.
Elliot’s representative fiduciary experience includes serving as counsel for chapter 7 trustees and liquidating trustees in difficult bankruptcy matters and as counsel for Receivers and Assignees for the Benefit of Creditors. Elliot also represents debtors and creditors in distressed situations, including in Chapter 11 and Subchapter V reorganizations. The range of Elliot’s experience includes automotive, real estate, manufacturing, health care, and closely-held businesses making him well qualified for nearly every engagement.
Elliot is regularly recognized for his practice, being named a member of the 2024 Class of the 40 Under 40 by the American Bankruptcy Institute, one of DBusiness’ Top Lawyers in Bankruptcy & Creditor-Debtor Rights Law in 2022 through present and has been named a Rising Star and then Super Lawyer by the Michigan Super Lawyers publication since 2014. Elliot is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Consumer Bankruptcy Association of the Eastern District of Michigan, the Turnaround Management Association, the Brother Rice Warrior Bar Association, a sustaining member of the Eastern District of Michigan Bar Association, and a supporter of the Court Historical Society. He is also a Co-Vice Chair of the Debtor/Creditor Rights Committee for the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
